About me
Throughout my practice, I have supported individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, childhood trauma, dissociation, and obsessive-compulsive behaviours, among other experiences.
Psychotherapy practice and experience
I have dedicated several years to providing long-term psychotherapy, primarily as a volunteer at a respected charity in Sheffield. In addition to my volunteer work, I also offer therapy in a private practice setting.
While I don’t position myself as an ‘expert’ in any one area, I fully appreciate the uniqueness of each individual’s lived experience. Throughout my practice, I have supported individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, childhood trauma, dissociation, and obsessive-compulsive behaviours, among other experiences.
I have also worked extensively with individuals who identify as neurodivergent, whether formally diagnosed or not, both in my role as a therapist and as a specialist mentor for university students. My decade-long experience working with secondary school students, particularly in supporting their special educational and mental health needs, has provided me with a solid foundation in understanding these areas.
As a therapist, my role is to connect with you as a fellow human being, offering a space where you can feel truly seen and heard. My aim is to gently guide you in deepening your self-awareness and, if you choose, support you in making meaningful changes in your life.
Qualifications
I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and continually seek to enhance my practice. I do this by attending relevant workshops, staying informed on the latest research and ideas, and thoughtfully reflecting on my work through regular supervision.
I hold two Postgraduate Diplomas, one in Psychology and, more recently, another in Counselling and Psychotherapy. As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am committed to upholding their ethical framework. This commitment involves attending regular supervision and staying current with professional developments and training to ensure the highest standard of care.
Earlier in my journey, I earned a BA(Hons) in Communication Studies and Philosophy, which sparked my curiosity and passion for understanding human behaviour. Following this, I embarked on travels and explored various professions, all of which profoundly shaped my personal and professional development. These rich life experiences ultimately guided me toward a career in psychotherapy, a field that brings deep meaning and purpose to my life.
